Wings of a Broken Dream
Once there was a girl so free,
Who dreamed to fly across the sea.
But before her wings could touch the sky,
Her story ended with a sigh.
With wild vines wrapped around her feet,
She walked through fields with dreams so sweet.
She wished to soar, to touch the light,
With stars reflecting in her sight.
She looked up high, her eyes so bright,
And whispered softly in the night,
"Oh, if only I had wings so wide,
I’d fly across the sky so bright."
But one strong storm, so wild and fast,
Tore her world and changed her past.
Before she knew, her hands were tied,
Her dreams were lost, her heart just cried.
Hopes she held so close and dear,
Now were gone, wrapped in fear.
Her tears fell heavy in the air,
Her heart was lost in deep despair.
Her wings were cut, her sky turned gray,
Her dreams were told to go away.
Now locked inside a golden cage,
She longed to break beyond its edge.
Oh, my heart that wants to fly,
Yet here I stand, just wondering why.
